About the Team
The Transition Finance team sits within the firm's market-leading Social, Sustainable and Impact Finance practice, advising debt providers, arrangers and sponsors on the origination and structuring of financing at both project and corporate level, as well as corporates requiring specialist finance to deliver their Transition Plans. The team works seamlessly across offices and collaborates closely with colleagues across the wider finance departments.
The team acts all aspects of Social, Sustainable and Green funding, whether related to finance, property security or debt capital markets, they act for every funder and every investor. For debt financing, refinancing and/or restructuring, no other firm comes close to them in terms of strength in depth, expertise, collaborative approach or delivery.
Led by an award-winning Partner who established this specialist practice and brings more than three decades of experience in the legal finance sector, the team offers a genuinely entrepreneurial platform with a lean structure. The Role
Joining the firm's innovative team, you will advise the pre-existing clientele of banks, debt funds, sponsors, asset managers and institutional investors on transition finance at both corporate and project level, with a particular focus on international matters.
You will lead on the structuring and documentation of complex financings, including acquisition finance, project finance, private credit and, where relevant, government-backed structures. As well as matters across asset modernisation, operational change or business-model evolution, often where assets are transitioning rather than already green.
As a Managing Associate, you will be a key member of a high-performing and fast-growing team. Where you will work closely with partners on complex matters, contribute to the ongoing development of client relationships and collaborate across the firm's Finance teams on multi-disciplinary transactions.

Requirments
- Strong technical finance experience, including drafting and negotiating LMA documentation (or equivalent), with experience advising on cross-border leveraged finance, project finance and/or structured finance transactions.
- Experience acting on corporate and project finance matters involving transition-related assets, ideally across sectors such as renewables, digital infrastructure, decarbonisation, sustainable energy, natural capital or climate-resilient infrastructure.
- A strong commercial mindset, with an interest in business development, building client relationships and developing a market profile.
- The judgement, leadership and interpersonal skills to mentor junior lawyers and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.
