Senior Solicitor - Contentious Probate | 6+ PQE | South West London
This well-regarded South West London law firm is looking to recruit a Contentious Probate Solicitor to be the lead lawyer within a new contentious trusts and probate offering within the firm!
The Firm:
A friendly, modern and well-regarded boutique law firm with a strong reputation for private client and dispute resolution work, acting for a broad mix of individuals, families and local businesses.
The firm is known for its supportive, collaborative culture and offers a more personal, close-knit environment than a larger practice, with genuine autonomy and the opportunity to shape practice areas from the ground up.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to take ownership of a new area of law within a growing and ambitious firm, with strong internal cross-referral potential from both the private client and dispute resolution teams.
The Role:
This is a rare opportunity for an experienced solicitor (6+ years PQE) to be a key part of a new contentious probate practice at this well regarded law firm, working closely with both the Private Client and Dispute Resolution teams.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is confident building a practice area, with the support of the firm to develop and grow the offering, including engaging in business development and developing external referral networks (although always useful, an existing network is not a prerequisite).
The role will involve building out a caseload of contentious probate matters, with scope to expand the practice into broader inheritance disputes and Inheritance Act claims.
You will be expected to hit the ground running, managing complex contentious estates and probate disputes while also helping to shape the strategic direction of this new practice area within the firm.
Matters are expected to include a range of contentious probate work, including:
- Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 claims
- Will validity disputes
- Executor and trustee disputes
- Contentious estate administration matters
The successful candidate will be technically strong, organised and confident managing complex files independently, with excellent communication skills, strong IT capability and a high standard of client care.
The firm offers a friendly and supportive working environment, based in modern offices, together with an attractive benefits package including a bonus scheme, generous holiday allowance, pension, private medical cover, death in service benefit, Cycle to Work scheme and an annual subsidised ski trip!
All in all, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced contentious probate solicitor to step into a senior, career-defining role where you can build and lead your own practice area within a supportive and sociable firm.
