Senior Paralegal - Corporate & Compliance

Location: London, hybrid (3 days onsite) | Reports to: Head of Legal

We're working with a fast-growing, private equity-backed energy business that is transforming how new developments connect to the electricity grid. The company helps businesses and residential projects get connected faster, supporting the UK's transition to net-zero.

The company provides grid access to data centres, electric vehicle chargers, renewables storage, as well as industrial, commercial and residential property.

The legal team is split into two areas: Land Rights and Corporate & Compliance. This role sits within Corporate & Compliance, reporting directly to the Head of Legal. It's a high-impact position where you'll gain exposure to a wide range of corporate legal work and help shape processes, compliance programmes, and business decisions.

This is a great opportunity for a paralegal with law firm experience who now wants to progress in-house and qualify as a solicitor in the near future.

Your role
You'll act as a trusted partner to the Head of Legal, attending meetings on their behalf, representing the company secretarial and legal functions, and helping develop processes, compliance programmes, and documentation in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Track legal documents, obligations, and manage renewals.
  • Draft and review legal documentation, including NDAs, and support negotiation processes.
  • Conduct legal research across corporate governance, regulatory, HR, and property matters, preparing clear internal memos.
  • Support the Company Secretary function, including board packs, filings, and minutes.
  • Help implement policies and procedures, including training, monitoring, and auditing programmes.
  • Attend meetings and act as a business partner to stakeholders across the company.
  • Assist with process improvements and adoption of technology solutions within the legal team.

Your profile

  • Proven experience in corporate and/or property law, ideally in-house or at a top law firm.
  • Understanding of compliance frameworks and ability to liaise with senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong general communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable directly advising and proactively following up with senior leadership figures.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
