An opportunity has arisen for an ambitious senior Restructuring & Insolvency Solicitor who is looking for a day one partner opportunity at a highly ranked L500 law firm. The firm has recently seen an influx of work within its highly regarded R&I team. The Restructuring & Insolvency team is recognised as one of the leading practices in the South West, holding a Band 1 ranking in Chambers and a Tier 1 ranking in Legal 500 for Insolvency & Corporate Recovery. Advising insolvency practitioners, lenders, corporates, government bodies and office holders, the team works across the full spectrum of restructuring, insolvency and recovery matters, combining technical expertise with a strong reputation for complex and high-profile contentious work.
Led by an experienced national leadership group, the practice is particularly well known for its longstanding relationships with insolvency practitioners and public sector clients, including significant instructions from the Insolvency Service and Official Receiver. You will be joining a collaborative national team, working on a broad range of matters including administrations, liquidations, director conduct investigations, insolvency litigation, asset recovery, security enforcement and corporate restructuring projects.
The Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Restructuring & Insolvency Solicitor with 6+ years PQE to join the growing R&I team in the firm's London office, where you will have day one partnership, further developing your profile and take on increasing responsibility as their practice evolves.
This role offers the opportunity to take a leading role within a highly regarded Restructuring & Insolvency practice, managing a varied and complex caseload while working closely with Partners and senior colleagues across the national team. The successful candidate will advise on a broad range of restructuring, insolvency and recovery matters, with exposure to both contentious and non-contentious work.
You will work with insolvency practitioners, lenders, corporates, government bodies and office holders on matters including administrations, liquidations, corporate restructurings, security enforcement, director conduct issues, asset recovery and insolvency litigation. The team is particularly well known for its public sector and investigations work, providing exposure to high-profile and technically challenging matters that are often unavailable elsewhere in the market.
As a junior partner of the team, you will be encouraged to take ownership of client relationships, contribute to the development of existing accounts and play an active role in business development initiatives. You will be expected to supervise and mentor lawyers across the team, supporting their progression whilst helping to shape the continued growth of the practice.
This position is ideally suited to an ambitious lawyer who has strong contacts in big banks, seeking a long-term platform to become partner within a growing national team, with the opportunity to further develop their profile and take on increasing responsibility as their practice evolves.
Requirements:
- Restructuring & Insolvency Solicitor with 6+ years' PQE (England & Wales), capable of managing a broad and complex caseload.
- Established relationships across major banking institutions, including HSBC, Barclays, Lloyds Banking Group and NatWest Group; whilst a portable following is not required, demonstrable connections within these organisations are essential.
- Client-focused with excellent communication skills and a proven ability to build and maintain long-term relationships.
- Experience supervising junior lawyers, with the ambition and leadership skills to help grow the firm's practice locally and nationally.
