Property Litigation Solicitor / Associate
Bristol | NQ-5 PQE
Overview
This property disputes team is growing with intent. Its Bristol practice is expanding quickly, driven by the quality and volume of work rather than the need to add headcount. The firm is well established nationally and is now operating in Bristol at a level that allows it to compete directly with the strongest property litigation teams in the city.
This is a considered, long-term hire. The team is looking to bring in a solicitor it can invest in and develop as the practice continues to grow.
The work
The quality of work is a genuine differentiator. The team acts on complex, high-value and often strategically important property disputes for a broad commercial client base, including developers, landowners, investors, commercial landlords and tenants, housebuilders, public sector bodies and energy and renewables organisations.
Matters regularly include:
- Commercial landlord and tenant disputes, including renewals, terminations, dilapidations, breaks, forfeiture and covenant issues
- Development land and property contract disputes
- Trusts of land and related ownership matters
- Property disputes linked to energy and renewables projects, including land rights, easements, restrictive covenants, options and overage
- Specialist work such as rights to light, enfranchisement, TOLATA and telecoms-related disputes
The structure of the team means associates are exposed to this work early and are trusted with meaningful responsibility.
The opportunity
This role offers more than strong work. Associates are encouraged to build their own caseloads, develop client relationships and work closely with senior lawyers on complex disputes. Progression is driven by contribution and capability rather than time served.
For solicitors who feel they have reached a ceiling, or who want access to better quality work without being lost in a large team, this represents a clear step forward.
The individual
The team is open to newly qualified solicitors through to around five years' PQE. They are keen to speak with lawyers who are commercially minded, take pride in their work, communicate well with clients and colleagues, and enjoy being part of a growing team.
The environment
The firm combines ambition with a collegiate and modern working culture. It offers flexibility, strong support and competitive benefits, and is focused on building a sustainable, high-quality practice in Bristol.
