You will join a close-knit project team, working alongside an associate, senior associate and two award winning partners. All with extensive expertise across construction and development, offering great exposure to a range of construction matters. The Role:

A standout opportunity for a Senior Construction Solicitor with Non-Contentious experience to join a forward-thinking and rapidly expanding team with excellent mentorship and support throughout while you progress your legal career.

As a Senior Associate in the Projects, Development and Construction team, you will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of matters. Your work will include advising clients across the construction sector, including public institutions, developers, contractors, funders and consultants.

You will be working on matters consisting of:

  • Shaping procurement and contracting strategies from project outset.
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating construction and project documentation.
  • Preparing agreements that protect client interests and allocate risk effectively.
  • Working across diverse project types including regeneration, accommodation, energy, healthcare, hotels and infrastructure.
  • Advising on standard and bespoke contracts, including JCT, EPC/EPCM, NEC, partnering arrangements and joint ventures.
  • Supporting clients with risk management during live projects, including payment issues, delays, and safety concerns.
  • Analysing contracts to clarify rights, responsibilities and next steps.
  • Advising on extensions of time, insolvency issues, and termination processes.
  • Helping clients avoid disputes through proactive advice and commercial negotiation.

Alongside this, you'll have the chance to build and develop your own profile, with a strong emphasis on business development that will contribute to both your success and the team's growth. You'll also play a key role in supporting junior fee earners, providing supervision and guidance to help them thrive.

Requirements:

  • 6+ PQE (England & Wales) in Non-Contentious Construction law.
  • Strong development, investor and/or housing/accommodation experience is welcomed.
  • Solid knowledge of JCT, NEC, FIDIC and market-standard amendments.
  • Willingness to take on bespoke agreements, large due diligence and development arrangements.
  • Strong commercial awareness, attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Enthusiastic approach to business development and relationship building.
