The Team

You would be joining an award-winning Private Funds team, consistently recognised in both the Legal 500 and Chambers, and named "Law Firm of the Year" in consecutive years. Part of the firm's global Asset Management & Investment Funds platform of 150+ lawyers, the team is ranked for expertise across the full private equity and funds lifecycle.

The team advises fund sponsors at every stage of the private equity and venture capital journey, from emerging managers raising US$10 million through to institutional funds in excess of US$5 billion. Helping to structure, launch and operate funds across jurisdictions and asset classes.

With a truly global advisory footprint, the team delivers regulatory, distribution, and investment management guidance, collaborating across practices to provide seamless solutions to complex fund challenges worldwide.

The Role

This is an opportunity for a Private Equity Funds solicitor to join a one-of-a-kind firm that has an impressive global footprint of clients. Providing you an opportunity to grow and develop within an award-winning, inclusive and collaborative department.

As part of the highly respected Private Funds team, you will advise fund sponsors on all aspects of private equity and venture capital funds across the UK and internationally. This spans the structuring and launch of funds, including main funds, parallel vehicles, and co-investment platforms, through to leading the drafting and negotiation of key fund documentation and investor side letters.

You will build and develop client relationships with leading sponsors on complex, cross-border mandates, gaining exposure to prestigious investor negotiations, market-leading terms, and evolving industry trends.

The role also offers the opportunity to advise on ongoing fund operations, including regulatory and governance matters, carried interest and incentive structures and strategic projects such as spin-outs, secondaries, and next-generation fund launches.

As an Associate/Senior Associate, you will be a key member of a busy, high-performing, and collegiate team. You will work closely with partners on complex matters, play an active role in developing client relationships and collaborate across the firm's practice groups on multi-disciplinary transactions.

Requirements

  • 4 - 8 years PQE (England & Wales) Solicitor with Private Equity funds experience within a top City, US or International law firm.
    • An excellent academic record is desirable.
  • Excellent drafting and legal research skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (including strong presentation skills).
  • Ability to get on with clients, colleagues and support staff and work as a collaborative team player.
  • Organised, responsible and able to work effectively in situations of high pressure.
