Employment Partner | West End | L500 and Spears Ranked

This is a standout opportunity for an ambitious Employment Partner, or Senior Associate with a portable practice, to join one of the West End's most highly regarded firms. Working alongside the Head of Employment - who joined from a Top 50 City firm and has successfully built and expanded the practice.

You will have the platform, support and autonomy to further develop your client base while helping shape the next phase of the team's growth.

The Firm
This award-winning firm has established itself as one of the most respected names in the West End legal market. Consistently recognised in the Legal 500 and Spear's rankings, the firm has experienced significant growth in recent years, nearly doubling in size through a combination of strategic hires, strong leadership and an increasing volume of high-quality work.

The firm has successfully attracted lawyers from leading City and national practices who were seeking a more collegiate environment where they could have a greater impact, enjoy closer client relationships and benefit from a healthier work-life balance. Despite its size, the firm advises an impressive client roster that includes major corporates such as John Lewis, Vodafone and Arcadia, alongside high-growth businesses, entrepreneurs and private clients.

Innovation sits at the heart of the firm's strategy. Significant investment has been made in cutting-edge technology and AI-driven solutions, enabling lawyers to work more efficiently and focus on delivering exceptional client service. Combined with an entrepreneurial culture and forward-thinking leadership team, this has created a modern and highly attractive platform for ambitious lawyers.

The Role

The firm is seeking an Employment Partner to join its growing and dynamic Employment team.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in the continued expansion of the practice, with the freedom to develop your own client relationships while working closely with an established and highly respected Head of Department. You will join a supportive team with access to specialist expertise across the wider firm and a strong pipeline of existing work.

The team advises on the full spectrum of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, including:

  • All aspects of HR matters and including resolving issues relating to employee relations
  • Managing litigation disputes (often complex or with reputational repercussions) advising on post termination restraints and confidentiality
  • Providing transactional support and assisting with senior executive and team hires/exits.
  • Corporate restructuring, including advising on negotiations with employee representatives and trade unions.
  • Supporting international clients on establishing UK operations, managing employee relations, global restructurings and establishing global advice helplines.

The client base is broad and varied, including start-ups, professional services firms, financial institutions, hedge funds, private equity houses, charities, manufacturers and construction businesses. There is significant scope for you to bring and further develop your own client relationships within the practice.

Alongside your client-facing responsibilities, you will play an active role in business development, strategic growth initiatives and the supervision and development of junior lawyers. The team is known for its collaborative culture, entrepreneurial mindset and genuine emphasis on long-term career success.

Requirements:

  • Employment Partner or Senior Associate (England & Wales qualified).
    • A demonstrable client following or business case for partnership.
  • Strong technical expertise across a broad range of employment matters.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience supervising and mentoring junior lawyers.
  • Commercially minded with a proactive approach to business development.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Employment Partner or Senior Associate to join a thriving Legal 500-ranked firm in the heart of the West End and play a pivotal role in the development of an expanding Employment practice.
