Court of Protection NQ-4 PQE | South Manchester | L500 Ranked Firm
Do you want to join a progressive, people-centred law firm where excellence, flexibility and genuine teamwork shape everything they do? This is an outstanding opportunity to join an expanding and highly respected Court of Protection department.
The Firm
They are a modern, forward-thinking law firm built on core values including kindness, trust and flexibility. From day one, remote working has been at the heart of their culture, enabling their people to enjoy meaningful balance without compromising on quality or performance.
Their commitment to wellbeing is real: they expect high standards, but not long hours, and they actively manage workloads to protect the health and happiness of their teams. Active mentoring, feedback and structured career pathways are all on offer, and many of the current seniors in the teams have progressed quickly through the ranks.
What sets them apart is their genuinely collegiate way of working. Colleagues from across the firm consistently describe it as supportive, empowering and deeply collaborative, with a positive culture that remains strong even as the firm continues to grow.
The Role
You will join a well-established Court of Protection team, working closely with senior lawyers and the Head of Department on a varied and rewarding caseload.
The role will see you handling a mix of deputyship administration matters, often involving vulnerable clients with complex needs and, in some cases, high-value litigation awards. Much of the work involves close collaboration with families, professional deputies and multidisciplinary teams to ensure decisions are made in the client's best interests.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a varied Court of Protection caseload including deputyship administration matters
- Advising on issues arising under the Mental Capacity Act and assisting with best interest decisions
- Drafting court applications, legal documentation and client correspondence
- Liaising with Counsel, experts and other professionals involved in the client's care and financial management
- Keeping clients and their families informed on case progress, funding arrangements and ongoing matters
- Supporting junior team members where appropriate and assisting with supervision or delegation of work
This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop specialist expertise while working on meaningful cases that genuinely impact clients' lives.
The Ideal Candidate
The firm is looking to speak with solicitors who:
- Are NQ-4 years PQE with experience in Court of Protection matters
- Have strong client care skills and the ability to work sensitively with vulnerable clients and families
- Are organised, detail-oriented and comfortable managing their own caseload
- Enjoy working as part of a collaborative team environment
This role offers a rare combination of high-quality work, genuine flexibility and long-term progression within a supportive team.
