The Corporate Restructuring & insolvency team sit within the wider Dispute Resolution team, offering a full-service capability spanning both non-contentious and contentious work (while this role is focused on the non-contentious aspects, you'll have opportunities to get involved in the litigious work too if you desire).

Headed by a Spears, Chambers and L500 ranked partner who is leading a team of highly regarded solicitors who sit at the mid to upper market, handling complex, multi-stakeholder situations to long list of esteemed clients.

The Role:

This Top 50 UK law firm is seeking a 2-5 PQE Corporate Restructuring and Insolvency Associate to join its highly regarded Chambers and L500 ranked practice, where you will have direct partner exposure and develop your career and build your portfolio.

You will work closely with a specialist team across the secretum of Corporate Restructuring & insolvency matters, advising and building relationships with the teams longstanding clientele of Insolvency practitioners, Lenders / financial institutions, companies (distressed or solvent), directors and other stakeholders.

Covering services from:

  • Restructuring of solvent and insolvent companies including debt restructuring, refinancings, debt for equity swaps, distressed investing, loan to own strategies and distressed M&A.
  • Schemes of arrangement and restructuring plans.
  • Pre-formal insolvency advice and planning
  • Advice on directors' duties and liabilities in relation to distressed or insolvent companies
  • Formal insolvencies, including company voluntary arrangements, administrations, liquidations (solvent or insolvent) and bankruptcies
  • Security reviews on existing or proposed loans
  • Strategic acquisitions of insolvent businesses and assets from insolvency practitioners
  • Advice to investors in distressed or insolvent companies
  • Litigation and recovery actions
  • Asset tracing
  • Directors' disqualification proceedings
  • LPA Receiverships, and
  • Cross-border insolvency and COMI issues

As you develop, you'll take on greater responsibility in supporting all stages of restructuring and insolvency matters, managing client relationships and build not only your own professional portfolio but the further success of the team. Requirements

  • 2 - 5 years' PQE in non-contentious insolvency and restructuring matters, gained at a recognised City or regional firm
    • Both corporate and personal experience is preferred (although candidates with experience of one or more of these areas of focus will be considered).
  • Have a strong commercial acumen and be client focused.
  • Willing to be part of a dynamic and growth team with good career prospects.
  • Willing to take on early responsibility and opportunities to develop client relationships.
  • Be a personable team player and willing to work as part of teams based in different locations.
