Commercial / Commercial Property Solicitor | 6+ PQE | Ely

An opportunity for an experienced commercial or commercial property solicitor to join a long-established regional practice where this work sits at the core of the firm's offering. This is a senior, client-facing role with real responsibility, varied instructions and clear long-term progression within a respected East Anglian platform.

The Role

Based in the Ely office, you will advise a broad base of SME and local-corporate clients on a mix of commercial and commercial property matters. The role can lean commercial, property-focused, or remain mixed, depending on your background and preference.
Typical work will include:

  • Advising businesses on contracts, trading arrangements and commercial risk
  • Sales and purchases of businesses, including property-backed transactions
  • Commercial property acquisitions and disposals
  • Landlord and tenant matters, including leases, renewals and assignments
  • Supporting clients with expansion, relocation and development projects
  • Working closely with colleagues across corporate, litigation and private client teams

About You

This role will suit a lawyer who enjoys being a trusted adviser to clients and is looking for a senior position within a strong regional firm.

  • 6+ years' PQE in commercial law, commercial property, or a combination of both
  • Comfortable managing matters independently and dealing directly with clients
  • Experience advising SMEs and owner-managed businesses preferred
  • Agricultural or rural property experience welcomed but not essential
  • Someone looking for long-term progression within a stable regional practice

What's on Offer

  • A senior role within an established multi-office regional firm
  • Varied, high-quality regional work with significant client contact
  • Clear scope for progression; historically, this position has developed into a director/shareholder-level role
  • A stable platform with strong cross-referral and consistent workflow
  • A supportive, community-focused culture rather than a City-style environment

The Firm

You will be joining a long-established, full-service regional firm with multiple offices across the region. Commercial and commercial property work form a central part of its practice, supported by a broad private and business client base that generates steady, high-quality instructions.
