Legal Director - Residential Conveyancing (7+ PQE)

The Role
You will join as Legal Director, taking ownership of the conveyancing team and playing a central role in its ongoing development.
This is not a pure fee-earning role. It's a leadership position with a mix of oversight of complex residential conveyancing matters, acting as the go-to for queries across the team, driving consistency, quality, and compliance, supporting and mentoring junior lawyers, and playing a key role in growing the firm's sale and purchase offering.
The caseload is varied and often more involved than a standard volume environment. You'll be dealing with freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, lease extensions and deed variations, matrimonial and non-standard transfers, new build work, unregistered titles, and more complex, restriction-heavy files.
There is no requirement to bring a following. The work is already there and continues to grow.
The Team
You'll be leading a small but capable team made up of a Solicitor and two Associates (CILEX, including one due to qualify).
They need someone visible, credible, and hands-on, someone who can raise the bar, support development, and bring structure where needed.
The Opportunity

You'll be working closely with senior leadership and will have a real say in how the team evolves, particularly around the growth of sale and purchase work, which is a key focus for the business.

Working Environment
Hybrid working with three days in the office and two from home. Hours are 9:00 to 17:00, with a half-day Friday available after probation.
There is a strong preference for someone who is present, engaged, and part of the team culture.

About You
You will have 7+ years' PQE in residential conveyancing, with a strong technical grounding across a broad range of matters.
You may already be leading a team or ready to step into that responsibility. Either way, you will be commercially aware, comfortable operating as a senior figure, and interested in playing a role in the growth and direction of the team.
