The Team
The Real Estate Disputes team handles high-value, complex, and often precedent-setting litigation for an impressive client base of landlords, tenants, developers, investors, corporate occupiers, banks, financial institutions, and insolvency practitioners. The team's work spans the full spectrum of contentious property matters, including dilapidations, lease renewals, rent review, break options, forfeiture, service charge disputes, development disputes, professional negligence, and rights of light. Lawyers regularly appear in the High Court, Court of Appeal, and Supreme Court.

The team is known for its technical depth, commercial acumen, and collaborative, knowledge-sharing culture. You will also be part of the firm's wider Knowledge Lawyer community, working alongside other PSLs across real estate and the wider business to drive innovation and consistency.

The Role
As the dedicated Knowledge Lawyer for the Real Estate Disputes team, you will be at the heart of the practice. You will monitor, analyse, and distil legal and procedural developments into practical updates, precedents, standard documents, playbooks, and guidance notes. You will provide expert advisory support on complex disputes and civil procedure issues, helping colleagues resolve queries and align advice with commercial objectives.

You will design and deliver client and internal training, support the development of litigation strategies, and drive innovation in knowledge management using legal tech and AI tools. You will also contribute to thought leadership, collaborate with business development on client-facing materials, and represent the team externally as a subject matter expert.

The Ideal Candidate

• UK-qualified solicitor with 5+ years' PQE in real estate disputes, or an experienced Knowledge Lawyer/PSL with a strong real estate disputes focus

• Deep contentious property experience, with knowledge across areas such as lease renewals, dilapidations, break notices, forfeiture, service charge, rent review, development disputes, title/boundary issues, and professional negligence

• Excellent technical, analytical, and drafting skills, with the ability to produce clear, commercially focused guidance and training materials

• A confident communicator and presenter, comfortable delivering training to both internal and external audiences

• Proactive, well-organised, and collaborative, able to manage competing priorities and build strong relationships across teams
