Real Estate Finance Senior Associate | 7+ Years PQE | Manchester
Real estate finance here is not a side offering. It is a serious, lender-focused practice within one of Manchester's most established full-service commercial firms, led by a partner with nearly 25 years in the market and a team that has real depth beneath them. The work spans mainstream banks, challenger banks, building societies, specialist and bridging lenders, and insolvency office holders. The firm is looking for a senior lawyer who can step into a leadership role, driving transactions from inception to completion, managing client relationships directly, and helping the team to keep growing. You will have the autonomy to run complex deals, the support of a tight-knit group around you, and the chance to shape the practice rather than just feed it.
The work
You will lead real estate finance transactions, drafting and negotiating facility agreements, intercreditor arrangements, and security packages. You will act for lenders on complex property financing, and you will be the person clients call when a deal needs commercial judgement as much as technical precision. The caseload is varied, and the team's client base means you will see everything from mainstream secured lending to more specialist, short-term, and restructuring-led mandates.
You will also supervise and mentor the junior lawyers in the team, associates, NQs, and paralegals, sharing your knowledge and helping to build the next layer of expertise. Business development sits alongside the day-to-day, supported by a firm that values long-term client relationships and gives you the platform to build your own profile.
About you
You are a qualified solicitor with at least seven years in real estate finance or commercial property, and you know how to lead a transaction from term sheet to completion. You have strong technical knowledge, a commercial mindset, and a genuine interest in developing others. You are proactive, you take ownership, and you understand that great client service is built on trust and clear communication.
