Real Estate Energy Solicitor | 2+ PQE | Manchester
A recognised energy specialist is building out a real estate energy team within a top 30 international firm.
This isn't rebranded general real estate. The practice sits at the intersection of property, infrastructure and the energy transition, land assembly, rights, consenting and documentation for renewable energy projects, EV charging networks, hydrogen schemes, district heating and grid infrastructure.
The work is strategic, often large-scale, and closely tied to decarbonisation policy. You would be joining at the point where the capability is being deliberately expanded, which means early exposure, direct client contact and the chance to shape how the team operates.
The Work
Recent matters include land rights for UK nuclear decommissioning projects, district heating schemes for local authorities across Greater Manchester as well as nationally, and acting for multiple EV charge-point operators on national roll-out. The team also handles solar and wind (onshore and offshore), hydrogen production, data centres, telecoms infrastructure and town-centre regeneration linked to sustainable energy.
You will work directly with the energy specialist leading the capability and collaborate with the firm's commercial energy, planning and projects teams. The wider Regeneration, Development & Infrastructure group is a large national team with strong cross-office support.
Training & Development
You will receive direct mentoring and structured training from a recognised specialist in energy-related real estate, supported by PSL-led units covering the technical and regulatory frameworks that underpin energy and infrastructure projects.
The Platform
The firm is a top 30 international practice with a strong sector focus and a recognised Energy & Natural Resources offering. Real estate sits at the core of many of its large mandates, particularly in infrastructure, regeneration and low-carbon projects.
Why This Makes Sense
You will work on cutting-edge energy transition projects, the kind shaping national infrastructure and net-zero delivery, without needing to move to London or join a pure energy practice.
The role offers responsibility early. Energy-real estate projects are often leanly staffed, so you will take ownership of workstreams like land assembly, easements, options and consenting rather than being buried in a large team.
You are joining at a growth stage, which means visibility, input and the chance to build a specialism that is only becoming more valuable as energy infrastructure investment accelerates.
