Property Litigation Solicitor | 1+ PQE | Birmingham

A residential property litigation team in Birmingham is expanding in response to significant client wins, creating an opening for someone who wants to develop a specialism in landlord and tenant work.

The practice sits within one of the UK's largest property litigation platforms, handling residential possession, disrepair defence, service charge disputes and contentious long leasehold matters for household-name landlords, investment portfolios, local authorities and developers across the country.

The Work
The focus is residential landlord and tenant litigation: contested possession claims, defending disrepair actions, advising on repairing obligations and compliance with the Renters Rights Act 2025, and handling housing law matters including rent repayment orders, HMO licensing, tenant breaches and rent increases.

At 1+ PQE, proactive case management, direct client contact and initiative are expected from the outset. As the team grows, running files independently evolves into supervising juniors, leading on client development and shaping how the practice handles its expanding workload.

The Platform
This is one of the largest property litigation practices in the UK, with strong regional presence, national clients and Legal 500 recognition.

The culture is collaborative and non-hierarchical, with an emphasis on meaningful involvement in live matters and structured career progression.

Why This Makes Sense
The Renters Rights Act 2025 is reshaping residential landlord and tenant work, and institutional landlords now require clear, strategic advice on possession, compliance and portfolio management. Building expertise at this point creates a skill set that translates well into in-house roles, larger litigation teams or specialist housing practices.

Expansion following client wins means increased responsibility, greater visibility and real opportunity to influence the team's approach to its growing caseload. The platform is national, the clients are high-profile, and the work is technically demanding, but the base is Birmingham with a culture that prioritizes flexibility and development.
