The Team
The property litigation practice is highly regarded in the market for its technical strength and commercial approach. It handles the full spectrum of contentious real estate matters, including landlord and tenant disputes, dilapidations, lease renewals, vacant possession, rights to light, development-related conflicts, and energy/infrastructure property disputes. The client base is broad and impressive, spanning institutional landlords, major developers, government bodies, and corporates.
The Manchester team works closely with colleagues across the UK, giving associates exposure to multi-jurisdictional and cross-office matters. The team is known for being collaborative, supportive, and committed to developing junior lawyers.
The Role
As an Associate, you will manage a varied caseload of property litigation with appropriate supervision, covering a mix of landlord and tenant, development, and rights-related disputes. You will draft pleadings, attend hearings, and engage directly with clients, playing an active role in client meetings and negotiations.
You will be supported by experienced partners and senior lawyers, with genuine encouragement to build your technical depth and sector knowledge. The firm's focus on technology means you will also be exposed to innovative tools and ways of working.
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified solicitor with 2+ years' PQE in property litigation, ideally gained at a reputable city or national firm
- Strong technical grounding in landlord and tenant disputes, with broader experience in development, rights to light, or real property litigation an advantage
- Excellent drafting and communication skills, with a commercial, client-focused approach
- Self-motivated and organised, able to manage a busy workload and meet deadlines
- A collaborative team player who thrives in a supportive, high-performing environment
