The Role
This opportunity offers the chance to step into a senior, client-facing position within a multi-award-winning Scottish firm recognised for its progressive culture and people-first approach.
Following significant departmental growth and increasing client demand in Scotland, they are seeking an accomplished Private Client Solicitor to take a leading role within their Private Client department.
You will work closely with Partners, Solicitors, Paralegals and Trainees who operate with a collaborative, modern mindset.
This is a role with genuine influence, shaping workflow, strengthening team capability, and contributing to the strategic development of a department known for innovation, quality and exceptional service standards.
With a hybrid client base spanning Scotland and England, the work is varied, often complex, and ideal for someone looking to elevate their profile and take meaningful ownership of their practice.
This position is well suited to an Associate seeking visibility, progression and a long-term platform to grow into enhanced responsibility.
The Work
- Manage a varied and often complex Private Client caseload with minimal supervision
- Advise on wills, powers of attorney, trusts, deeds of variation and inheritance tax planning
- Oversee and mentor team members including Solicitors, Paralegals and Trainees
- Collaborate with the Partner on departmental strategy, workflow and growth
- Contribute to reviewing and enhancing internal processes, policies and precedents
- Provide technical support and guidance across the wider Private Client team
- Engage actively in BD, client relationship building and cross-referral initiatives
Your Experience
- 4+ years PQE in Private Client with strong technical foundations
- Expertise across wills, POAs, trusts, tax planning and general estate planning
- Capable of managing a high-volume caseload efficiently and with autonomy
- Confident communicator with the ability to build rapport at all levels
- Be a natural leader, who is supportive, organised, encouraging and proactive
- Strong commercial awareness and financial management
- Empathy, professionalism and a client-centred approach
