Private Client Solicitor | 3+ Years PQE | Ely, Cambridgeshire

If you have a few years of private client experience under your belt and are now looking for a role where you can run your own matters with strong support, not constant oversight, this could be a strong move.

The Firm
This highly respected regional firm has deep roots across Cambridgeshire and Norfolk and a well-earned reputation for looking after both its clients and its people. It is large enough to handle complex, high-value private client work, but retains a down-to-earth, collaborative culture.

Teams know each other well, partners are accessible, and lawyers at associate level are given trust, responsibility and room to grow - without being left to sink or swim.

The Ely office is now looking for a Private Client Solicitor at 3+ years PQE to join a stable, supportive and busy department.

The Role
You will manage a mixed private client caseload with increasing autonomy, while still having access to senior input when you need it. Typical work includes:

  • Drafting wills and lasting powers of attorney
  • Probate and estate administration, including complex estates
  • Inheritance tax and succession planning advice
  • Trusts and Court of Protection matters
  • Advising elderly and vulnerable clients with care and sensitivity

You will also have the opportunity to supervise or support more junior team members informally, contribute to business development and help refine processes.

Why This Firm
This firm invests in its associates. You will receive structured supervision, clear career progression and genuine backing to develop your technical expertise and client relationships. Many solicitors have built long-term careers here, in an environment that balances quality work with sensible hours and a supportive team ethos.

About You

  • Qualified solicitor with 3+ years PQE in private client
  • Confident handling wills, probate and private wealth matters independently
  • Strong technical knowledge with a pragmatic, client-focused approach
  • Good communicator, calm under pressure, and keen to contribute to a collaborative team

What's on Offer

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience, with regular reviews
  • Clear development pathway and access to senior mentoring
  • Flexible and hybrid working options
  • Friendly, close-knit team culture
  • A firm that prioritises wellbeing alongside career growth

This is an excellent opportunity to step into an associate role, with the right balance of responsibility, support and long-term potential.
