Private Client Solicitor | NQ + | Ely, Cambridgeshire

A strong start in private client law makes all the difference. This role offers the kind of solid foundation that sets you up for the long term: proper training, approachable colleagues, and real client contact from an early stage.

The Firm
This well-regarded regional firm has deep roots across Cambridgeshire and Norfolk and a longstanding reputation for treating clients and staff well. It is large enough to handle complex, high-quality work, but small enough that you won't get lost.

The culture is practical and unpretentious. Teams are close-knit, partners are accessible, and junior solicitors are developed through a mix of supervision, trust and gradual responsibility - not trial by fire.

The firm's Ely office is now looking for a Private Client Solicitor at NQ to 2 years' PQE to join a stable, experienced and supportive department.

What You'll Be Doing
You will work alongside established private client lawyers, handling a varied mix of work while building your own caseload at a sensible pace. Typical matters include:

  • Preparing wills and lasting powers of attorney
  • Administering estates and handling probate
  • Supporting inheritance tax and succession planning
  • Trusts and Court of Protection matters
  • Advising elderly and vulnerable clients with empathy and clarity

You will have full administrative support and modern systems, so you can focus on developing your technical knowledge and client skills.

Why Join This Firm
This firm actively invests in junior lawyers. Training is structured, supervision is practical and progression is achievable. Many of its solicitors trained and qualified internally, staying for the long term because the environment values quality, collaboration and sensible hours over burnout culture.

About You

  • Newly qualified to 3 years' PQE in private client work
  • Genuine interest in wills, probate and private wealth
  • Clear communicator with a calm, client-focused manner
  • Eager to learn and contribute to a supportive team

What's on Offer

  • Competitive salary with regular reviews
  • Dedicated mentoring and structured development from day one
  • Flexible and hybrid working options
  • A friendly, close-knit team atmosphere
  • A firm that genuinely prioritises wellbeing alongside career progression

This is an excellent opportunity to build strong private client foundations in a firm that will support you properly as you grow.
