A growing and ambitious L500 firm is seeking a Planning and Infrastructure Associate to join a high-performing team on a clear growth trajectory. This is a rare opportunity to develop a career within a nationally respected practice that advises on some of the most impactful projects in Scotland and across the UK. You will work on complex, meaningful matters spanning renewables, energy, major infrastructure and transport, supported by a rapidly expanding Real Estate platform.

About the Team

  • The team is led by a highly respected Partner with a strong national reputation in planning, infrastructure and energy projects.
  • You will gain exposure to a broad range of matters, including renewable energy, transportation, major infrastructure, regeneration and public sector developments.
  • The team collaborates closely with the wider Real Estate practice, which is expanding quickly and is consistently instructed on some of the most significant projects in the country.
  • The environment is collaborative and supportive, with a focus on career development, high-quality work and mentoring within a high-performing team.

About the Role

  • Advise on planning and infrastructure projects, including renewables, energy transition, major infrastructure and transport schemes.
  • Support on planning applications, appeals, development consent processes and related advisory work.
  • Work alongside the Partner and senior colleagues on complex, high-profile matters from an early stage.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across real estate, environment and construction on multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Build strong client relationships and develop a well-rounded understanding of planning and infrastructure law.

Candidate Profile

  • NQ-3 years' PQE with experience or strong interest in planning, infrastructure or real estate law.
  • Strong academic credentials and genuine enthusiasm for planning, infrastructure and development projects.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach with the ability to work effectively in a supportive environment.
  • Clear communication skills and a practical, solutions-focused mindset.
  • Ambition to grow professionally within a team that is investing in future talent.
