The Role & The Work
A well-respected independent Scottish firm is seeking a Newly Qualified Private Client Solicitor to join its Tier 2 ranked L500 Private Client team in Edinburgh.

The firm has built a strong reputation for punching well above its weight in the Scottish legal market, consistently earning recognition in leading legal directories. A number of lawyers across the firm hold individual Legal 500 and Chambers rankings, reflecting the depth of expertise within the practice and the high quality of work undertaken.

Joining this collaborative Edinburgh team, you will work closely with experienced practitioners advising a diverse client base including high-net-worth individuals, families, entrepreneurs and family businesses.

The practice handles a wide spectrum of private client matters, providing thoughtful, long-term advice on issues that are often deeply personal and strategically important.

Your work will include advising on wills, powers of attorney, estate planning, asset protection and succession planning, alongside supporting the administration of executries and trusts. You will also gain exposure to more complex matters such as large estates, multi-generational wealth planning and guardianship or capacity-related cases.

The breadth of the team's client base means that no two matters are the same. From the outset, you will gain practical exposure to complex and interesting work while building strong technical foundations in Private Client law.

As your confidence grows, you will take increasing ownership of matters and develop direct relationships with clients, positioning yourself as a trusted adviser supporting individuals and families through key life decisions.

Your Experience

• Trainee or NQ Solicitor with experience in Private Client work
• A genuine passion for Private Client law and client-focused advisory work
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage responsibilities independently while contributing to a collaborative team
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• A proactive mindset and enthusiasm for building long-term client relationships
