Leading International Firm | Construction Senior Associate (Non-Contentious) | 6+ Years PQE

A senior-level opportunity to join a top-tier, internationally recognised construction practice in Manchester, taking a lead role on some of the most significant energy and infrastructure projects in the UK and overseas, with a clear pathway to leadership.

The Firm
This is a Top 15 international firm with a preeminent reputation in energy, infrastructure, real estate, and major projects. It holds more Tier 1 Legal 500 rankings in the UK than any other firm and has been named the most innovative law firm in Europe. The firm's sector-led approach means lawyers work at the heart of the industries they advise, building deep client relationships and commercially sharp expertise.

Despite its size and global reach, the culture is approachable, collaborative, and genuinely supportive. The firm invests heavily in leadership development, hybrid working is embedded, and there is a transparent bonus scheme recognising individual contribution.

The Team
The non-contentious construction team is one of the strongest in the market, consistently top-ranked by both Chambers and Legal 500. It acts on complex, high-value projects across renewable energy, conventional power, major infrastructure, and real estate development.

Clients include FTSE 100 companies, international developers, utilities, and public sector bodies. The team is known for its technical depth, practical advice, and ability to manage procurement strategy, contract drafting, and risk allocation on landmark mandates.

The Role
Based in Manchester, you will take a lead role on complex front-end construction matters, managing large workstreams, drafting and negotiating high-value construction documentation, and advising clients on procurement strategy and risk allocation at the most senior levels. You will work closely with internationally recognised partners, with significant autonomy and direct responsibility for client relationships.

You will also play a meaningful role in supervising and developing junior lawyers, contributing to business development, and helping to shape the strategic direction of the practice as it continues to grow. The path to Director and Partnership is clearly defined and actively supported.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified solicitor with 6+ years' PQE in non-contentious construction law, gained at a highly regarded firm
  • Significant experience advising on complex construction contracts, procurement, and risk allocation, ideally across energy, infrastructure, or major real estate sectors
  • A confident, commercially minded lawyer with strong client relationship skills and the ability to lead matters and teams
  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior colleagues, with a genuine appetite to develop others
  • A proactive, collaborative approach, and an interest in business development and practice growth

What's on Offer

  • A senior seat in a top-ranked, internationally respected construction practice
  • Market-leading projects, including renewable energy, major infrastructure, and large-scale development work
  • A clear leadership pathway, with formal support for progression to Director and Partnership
  • Highly competitive salary and a transparent bonus of up to 25% of base salary
  • Hybrid working, comprehensive benefits, and an inclusive, supportive culture
