The Role
A standout opportunity has arisen for a Construction Lawyer (2+ PQE) to join a nationally recognised Non-Contentious Construction team in the heart of Edinburgh, where they can be at the forefront of major renewable and clean energy projects.
This is an exceptional chance to develop a niche within the rapidly expanding Renewables sector, advising on some of the most innovative and high-value energy projects in the UK and internationally.
You will work across cutting-edge infrastructure developments, including wind, solar, hydrogen, geothermal, biomass, battery storage and large-scale net-zero schemes.
This team is in a significant growth phase, meaning you'll benefit from strong upward progression, high levels of responsibility and exposure to market-leading work from day one.
The Work
- Stay ahead of market and regulatory developments within the energy transition space
- Act for a high-calibre client base including developers, investors, utilities, contractors and emerging energy providers
- Mentor and support junior colleagues as the team continues to expand
- Advise on the negotiation and delivery of complex construction contracts within the energy and renewables sector
- Work on major infrastructure projects across wind, solar, hydrogen, tidal, nuclear, geothermal and waste-to-energy
- Support high-value, strategic clean energy developments across the UK and abroad
- Collaborate closely with recognised leaders within the Construction & Energy team
- Take responsibility for your own caseload while contributing to multi-disciplinary project teams
- Build long-term client relationships and assist with business development
Your Experience
- 2+ years PQE in Construction (contentious or non-contentious)
- Experience drafting and negotiating construction contracts (e.g., NEC, FIDIC, JCT)
- Strong interest in renewable energy and major infrastructure projects
- Commercial awareness, with the ability to provide clear, pragmatic advice
- Excellent communication skills and confidence working with major clients
- Team-focused approach and willingness to support junior colleagues
- Ability to manage a varied and high-quality caseload
