The Company
Our client is a fast-growing, purpose-driven Northern European energy business at a pivotal moment in its UK expansion, investing up to £1 billion in low carbon infrastructure across the UK.
Operating across Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania and the United Kingdom, our client is at the forefront of the energy transition - delivering district heating, district cooling, industrial energy services, and waste-to-energy solutions. Their UK arm is growing rapidly, with a strong focus on decarbonisation, community impact, and innovation.
The successful candidate will be joining a small, entrepreneurial in-house legal function where their work will have a real and direct impact on the business from day one.
Your Role
As our client continues to grow its UK presence, they are looking for a talented and motivated Paralegal or Junior Legal professional to provide hands-on legal support across a broad range of in-house matters. This is a generalist role with significant exposure to corporate governance, commercial contracts, and compliance - ideal for someone looking to gain genuine business-side legal experience.
The successful candidate will be based in London, with occasional travel as the role requires.
Responsibilities
- Corporate governance support, including board and committee preparation and administration
- Day-to-day contract review, negotiation and management
- Management of the contract signing and execution process
- Ownership of KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) compliance processes
- Responding to day-to-day legal queries and handling ad hoc tasks as they arise
- Providing general legal and administrative support to senior stakeholders
- Supporting board and committee meetings, including preparation of materials and minute-taking
Your Profile
You are either a Junior / NQ Solicitor looking for a move in-house, an experienced Paralegal, or a recent legal graduate looking for a few years' in-house experience before qualification.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- A law degree or equivalent legal qualification (LPC, BPTC, or GDL welcome)
- Strong academic background and a genuine interest in commercial and corporate law
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong drafting skills
- The ability to manage multiple workstreams and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive, can-do attitude with the confidence to work independently
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage credibly with senior stakeholders
- Willingness to travel occasionally as required
Why This Role?
- Join a high-growth, mission-driven business at the cutting edge of the UK energy transition
- Gain broad, hands-on in-house legal experience across corporate governance, commercial contracts and compliance
- Work directly alongside senior leadership with genuine accountability from day one
- A unique opportunity to build business acumen alongside legal expertise
- Collaborative, fast-moving culture with real opportunities for progression
