Family Solicitor | Winchester | 5+ PQE

This isn't just another senior family role. You'll work alongside an experienced Partner and Head of Department in a thriving Winchester office, running your own caseload with genuine autonomy while helping shape the department's direction and growing the firm's presence across Hampshire.

An award-winning firm with a strong regional footprint is looking for a confident, entrepreneurial Family Solicitor or Legal Executive ready to take ownership, raise their profile, and lay the groundwork for future leadership.

The Opportunity

You'll have genuine autonomy with senior-level support and strategic influence:

  • Work directly with an experienced Partner and Head of Department
  • Run a well-established, high-quality, privately funded caseload independently
  • Help shape the department's direction and growth strategy
  • Build local referral relationships and raise your profile across the Hampshire market
  • Backed by a collaborative wider team across the firm's offices

The work is varied and sophisticated:

  • Divorce and financial settlements
  • Private children law matters
  • Pre/post-nuptial and cohabitation agreements
  • Advocacy (if preferred)
  • Mediation (desirable but not essential)

This is your chance to build something meaningful with proper mentorship and backing, not just maintain someone else's client list.

You

  • Solicitor or Legal Executive with 5+ PQE in family law
  • Experienced running your own caseload independently
  • Business-savvy with a track record of attracting or retaining clients
  • Confident networking and building local referral relationships
  • Commercially astute yet genuinely client-focused
  • Ideally embedded in or with strong ties to the Winchester/Hampshire market

Why This Works

This is a well-known practice recognised for quality, integrity, and innovation. They retain their people, many partners started as trainees. The culture is supportive and down-to-earth with genuine work-life balance, not performative flexibility.

What you get:

  • Work alongside an experienced Head of Department who'll develop you
  • Highly engaged leadership with an open-door ethos
  • Strong investment in development and career progression
  • Modern offices, tech-forward approach, welcoming team
  • Real autonomy with strategic support

This is more than a job. It's a leadership platform within a firm that will back your ambition and give you the space to grow something meaningful.
