Family Senior Associate / HoD | 6+ PQE | Cheltenham

A rare senior opportunity to lead the launch of a new Cheltenham office for a highly regarded, specialist family practice. This position offers immediate responsibility, a strong flow of work from existing established locations, and a clear, accelerated pathway to partnership within a respected and fast-growing boutique.

What You'll Be Doing

You will take a leading role in shaping and growing the firm's new Cheltenham base, supported by a recognised name in family law and a trusted regional network.

  • Acting as the senior family lawyer for Cheltenham, overseeing the set-up, development and day-to-day running of the office
  • Handling a sophisticated caseload including financial remedies, children matters and complex/high-value disputes
  • Developing your own practice, supported by the firm's established brand, referrer network and internal marketing team
  • Working closely with colleagues across multiple offices to deliver high-level advice and manage contested matters
  • Playing a key role in building local visibility, strengthening relationships with referrers and developing new business streams
  • Providing guidance, supervision and direction to future team members as the office grows
  • Contributing to wider strategic projects as part of a national family practice

About You

You will be an experienced family lawyer ready to step into a leadership position, with the appetite to grow a presence in a new, strategically important location.

  • Strong background in private family law, with experience in complex finances and/or children work
  • Confident managing challenging, contested cases and advising on broader strategic issues
  • Comfortable driving local business development, with an interest in growing a personal brand in the Cheltenham market
  • A collaborative, team-focused approach, working closely with colleagues across the firm's wider network
  • Clear leadership qualities and the desire to supervise, mentor and help shape a new team
  • Commercial awareness and genuine interest in developing a practice
  • Ambition for partnership within a supportive, expanding environment
