A strong opportunity to join a well-regarded, specialist family law firm as it opens a brand-new office in Bristol. You'll work directly alongside the incoming Head of Department, supporting a high-quality family caseload and helping to establish the firm's presence in this key regional market.

What You'll Be Doing

You will provide hands-on support to a senior family lawyer leading the new Bristol office, assisting with a broad mix of private family matters and contributing to the smooth running of a growing practice.

  • Supporting financial remedy, children and divorce matters from initial instruction through to resolution
  • Drafting applications, statements, correspondence and court bundles
  • Managing client communication, taking initial instructions and providing timely updates
  • Carrying out legal research and preparing notes, chronologies and case summaries
  • Assisting with disclosure, file organisation and hearing preparation
  • Liaising with courts, counsel, experts and third parties to progress files effectively
  • Helping with general office organisation as the new location develops its systems and processes

About You

You will be a motivated and detail-focused paralegal with a genuine interest in family law and the enthusiasm to contribute to the early growth of a new office.

  • Experience in family law, or solid paralegal experience with clear exposure to private client or litigation
  • Confident drafting, client communication and file organisation
  • Strong multitasking skills and the ability to support a busy caseload
  • Professional, reliable and comfortable working closely with a senior fee-earner
  • High attention to detail and strong written communication
  • Keen to learn, progress and take on increased responsibility over time
  • A proactive team player who welcomes involvement in the set-up and development of a new office

What's on Offer

You'll join a respected family boutique with a strong reputation across the South and South East, known for its specialist focus and modern, supportive culture.

  • Close supervision and hands-on experience working with the new Bristol Head of Department
  • Exposure to varied and often complex family work from day one
  • A clear development path, with opportunities to progress your responsibilities as the office grows
  • A collaborative, flexible working environment with a real emphasis on learning and support
  • A recognised Legal 500-ranked brand with a strong regional presence and ambitious growth strategy
  • Competitive salary, benefits and the chance to build your career within a leading specialist practice

The Firm

You will be joining a dedicated family law firm with multiple offices, a strong regional standing and a consistent record of growth. The firm combines specialist expertise with a modern, approachable culture, offering paralegals meaningful exposure, direct mentorship from senior lawyers and long-term progression within a prominent family-focused platform.
