Family Paralegal | Cheltenham
An excellent opportunity to join a well-known, specialist family practice as it launches a new office in Cheltenham. You'll work closely with the incoming Head of Department, supporting high-quality private family work and playing a key role in establishing a new presence for the firm in the region.
What You'll Be Doing
You will provide dedicated support to a senior family lawyer leading the new Cheltenham office, working on a broad range of private family matters and contributing to the smooth running of a busy, growing practice.
- Assisting with financial remedy, children and divorce files from initial instruction to conclusion
- Drafting court documents, bundles, statements, forms and correspondence
- Managing client communication, taking initial details and handling ongoing updates
- Conducting legal research and preparing case summaries for the senior lawyer
- Supporting with file management, disclosure exercises and preparation for hearings
- Liaising with courts, counsel and third parties to progress matters efficiently
- Contributing to the development of local processes as the new office grows
About You
You will be an organised, proactive and professional paralegal with a genuine interest in family law and a desire to grow within a specialist practice.
- Previous experience within family law, or strong exposure during a legal support role
- Confident drafting, communicating with clients and managing competing priorities
- A positive, team-focused approach with strong organisational skills
- Comfortable working closely with a senior lawyer and supporting a varied caseload
- High levels of accuracy and professionalism
- Keen to learn, progress and contribute to the building of a new office environment
- Interest in longer-term development within a specialist family practice
