The Team
The Employment, Pensions and Immigration team is a core specialist practice, known for providing pragmatic, commercially aware advice mainly to employers. Clients range from PLCs and registered providers to charities, not-for-profit organisations and private businesses.
The work is broad, the team advises on the full range of employment matters, from day-to-day advisory issues, restructures and TUPE, to Employment Tribunal claims, senior executive exits, and strategic projects. There is also close collaboration with pensions and immigration colleagues, giving lawyers exposure to integrated advice on complex workforce issues.
The Role
You will handle a varied caseload, both contentious and non-contentious. This includes advising on disciplinary and grievance issues, drafting contracts and policies, supporting corporate transactions, managing Employment Tribunal claims from start to finish, and advising on restructures, redundancies and TUPE.
You will be well supported by partners and senior lawyers while also having early responsibility for client relationships and your own caseload. The firm actively encourages associates to build their profile, take ownership of marketing activities, and develop the commercial awareness that leads to long-term career progression.
The Ideal Candidate
- Newly qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with strong employment law experience gained during training
- Exposure to both contentious and advisory employment work, with a genuine interest in developing a rounded employer-side practice
- Excellent drafting, communication and client care skills
- A commercial and pragmatic approach, with drive and enthusiasm
- A collaborative team player who is flexible, proactive and keen to contribute to business development
