Top 50 UK Law Firm | Employment Associate | 3+ Years PQE

Join a large, highly ranked employment team within a growing full-service firm where you will advise a broad client base on the full spectrum of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, with investment in your career development from day one.

The Firm
This is a Top 50 UK law firm with a 160-year heritage and a modern, forward-looking culture. With over 700 lawyers across multiple offices spanning the East of England, London, and the South West, the firm advises businesses, public sector organisations, and individuals nationally and internationally. It is consistently recognised as one of the best law firms to work at across several directories.

The Team
The employment practice is one of the largest and strongest regional teams in the country, ranked Tier 1 by Chambers and Legal 500. The team advises a wide range of public and private sector clients, from sector-leading businesses and household-name institutions to senior executives. It handles all areas of employment law, from day-to-day advisory work through to complex, high-value employment tribunal litigation, boardroom disputes, and strategic projects.

The team works collaboratively and is supported by in-house HR consultancy, workplace investigation, mediation, immigration, and employee incentives specialists. It also provides a sophisticated client training programme, reflecting how embedded the practice is with its clients.

The Role
You will play a key role in the team, advising on general employment issues including grievances, disciplinaries, and contractual matters. You will draft service agreements, contracts, handbooks, and settlement agreements. You will advise on redundancy, restructuring, TUPE, senior exits, and boardroom disputes. You will also handle employment tribunal litigation, including discrimination and whistleblowing claims.

You will support corporate transactions, providing employment due diligence and advisory input. Client relationships and business development are core to the role; you will contribute to networking, training, and profile-raising activities. You will work closely with senior colleagues, mentor junior lawyers, and benefit from the firm's structured talent development framework designed to support your progression.
