Employment Senior Associate / Partner | 6+ PQE | Southampton

A senior employment role in a Top 100 national firm where the work is City-quality, the client base is established, and the platform is built for long-term progression rather than short-term targets.

You'll join a national employment team advising major employers, senior executives and high-profile organisations across a range of sectors, with Southampton forming a key part of a growing national footprint.

The Role

You'll step into a busy, well-supported team handling a full mix of contentious and advisory employment work:

  • Managing Tribunal litigation from instruction through to final hearing, including complex and high-value claims
  • Advising on day-to-day HR issues including disciplinaries, grievances, redundancies and restructures
  • Handling discrimination, whistleblowing and senior executive disputes
  • Drafting contracts, policies, settlement agreements and HR documentation
  • Supporting corporate teams on employment aspects of transactions
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships across a broad corporate base
  • Getting involved in business development, client training and profile-raising work

There is genuine scope here to progress at Senior Associate level or move towards Partnership within a structured, national framework.

About You

  • 6+ PQE employment lawyer with strong respondent or mixed experience
  • Confident managing Tribunal work independently
  • Strong technical grounding across advisory and contentious matters
  • Commercial, client-focused and comfortable advising senior stakeholders
  • Interested in developing a profile within a national platform

Why This Firm

This is a Top 100 national firm with the scale to offer high-quality work and the structure to support long-term careers.

You get:

  • A strong national employment practice with consistent, high-value work
  • Access to major corporate clients and senior decision-makers
  • Clear, structured progression with real transparency around advancement
  • Hybrid working built on trust and flexibility rather than monitoring
  • Strong investment in development, training and internal support
  • A collaborative culture where people tend to stay and build careers

It's a role for someone who wants national-level work without sacrificing autonomy, balance, or visibility.
