The Team
The Employment Group is a market-leading practice providing comprehensive advice on employment law and global mobility to financial institutions, FTSE 100 companies, and prominent UK and international businesses. The team has deep sector expertise in financial services, retail and consumer, energy, and transport. It advises on the full spectrum of employment matters, from complex tribunal litigation, whistleblowing, and business protection issues to major strategic projects such as outsourcing, restructuring, and regulatory change.
The Role
You will manage a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious employment work, taking a lead role on significant matters for household-name clients. You will provide strategic HR advice, handle complex tribunal litigation, and support major corporate transactions and restructuring projects. You will work closely with senior lawyers and partners while also developing your own client relationships and contributing to business development.
As a senior member of the team, you will mentor and supervise junior colleagues, sharing your knowledge and helping to shape the next generation of employment lawyers. You will also be encouraged to engage with the firm's innovation programme, including exploring how AI and other tools can enhance client service.
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified solicitor with 5+ years' PQE in employment law, gained at a reputable firm
- Strong experience across both contentious and non-contentious employment matters, with the technical ability to manage complex litigation and strategic advisory work
- A client-focused, commercially minded approach, able to build enduring relationships based on trust and high-quality service
- Confident, self-motivated, and proactive, with excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills
- A natural mentor who enjoys developing junior colleagues and contributing to a positive team culture
- Inquisitive and eager to understand clients' commercial drivers, delivering advice with imagination and impact
