Data Protection Officer | Global Role in a High-Security, International Business | Remote working
If you're a data protection professional looking to step into a role with real global scope and autonomy, this is an opportunity to take ownership of privacy and data governance across an international organisation.
You'll be advising across jurisdictions, working directly with senior stakeholders, and shaping how data protection is embedded into a business operating at scale in highly regulated, high-value environments.
The Firm
This is a globally recognised business operating at the intersection of logistics, security, and high-value assets. The organisation supports clients across multiple jurisdictions, providing specialised services in secure transportation, storage, and risk management for valuable goods. Its operations are international by nature, with a presence across key global markets and a client base that includes leading institutions, corporates, and private clients.
Given the nature of the work, the business operates within a highly regulated environment, where compliance, confidentiality, and risk management are central to its offering. Data protection sits at the core of this, particularly as the organisation continues to expand its global footprint and digital capabilities. Internally, the business combines operational scale with a relatively lean structure, meaning support functions such as data protection have direct visibility and influence across the organisation.
The Role
You will take ownership of data protection and privacy across the business, acting as the central point of expertise on all related matters. Your role will involve advising on GDPR and wider international data protection frameworks, ensuring policies and processes are aligned across multiple jurisdictions. You will oversee data governance, support risk assessments, and ensure that data handling practices meet regulatory and operational requirements.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders across legal, compliance, IT, and operations, embedding best practice into day-to-day business activity. This includes supporting incident response, managing data breaches where required, and ensuring appropriate reporting and mitigation.
A key part of the role will also be forward-looking, identifying risks, improving frameworks, and helping the business adapt to evolving regulatory expectations as it continues to grow internationally.
The Candidate
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales
- Experience operating as a Data Protection Officer or in a senior data protection / privacy role
- Strong knowledge of GDPR and international data protection frameworks
- Experience working across multiple jurisdictions or within an international organisation
- Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical, business-focused advice
- Confident engaging with senior stakeholders across legal, compliance, and operational teams
- Experience managing data protection risk, audits, and incident response
What's On Offer
- A global role with real ownership of data protection across an international business
- Exposure to complex, cross-border regulatory and operational challenges
- Entirely remote working
- Market-competitive salary and benefits
- Direct access to senior stakeholders and influence over business-wide decisions
- The opportunity to shape and develop data protection frameworks as the business grows
- A collaborative environment where your expertise is central to the organisation
- This is a role that offers both responsibility and scope, allowing you to take ownership of a critical function within a business where compliance and risk management are central to its success.
