The team receives direct referrals from solicitors, barristers, personal injury and clinical negligence specialists across the country. The work is complex, high-value, and spans property and affairs, health and welfare, catastrophic injury awards, and contentious litigation.
You'll work in a well-structured team alongside like-minded partners, many of whom have been with the firm for over 10 years, testament to the culture, quality of work, and genuine career satisfaction.
The Opportunity
You'll be joining an already established Court of Protection practice with real depth and reputation:
- Act as professional deputy particularly for clients who have survived brain injury
- Work closely and collaboratively with families, case managers, and professionals to achieve outcomes consistent with clients' best interests
- Handle complex capacity issues across property and financial affairs
- Advise on discrete matters including applications for appointment of lay deputies, statutory wills, and lifetime gift applications
- Provide expert witness evidence to assist with personal injury and litigation claims
- Work closely with personal injury, clinical negligence, and private client teams on brain and birth injury cases, setting up personal injury trusts
- Support elderly clients with dementia and vulnerable individuals with learning difficulties or mental health issues
The firm has particular expertise in dealing with issues related to brain and birth injuries, managing substantial matters with the technical, tax, and trust complexities that high-value cases demand.
About You
- Established Court of Protection Partner or Senior Associate with demonstrable expertise
- Strong technical grounding across property and affairs, health and welfare, statutory applications
- Experience acting as professional deputy, particularly in complex brain injury cases
- Portable client following and proven business development track record would be a distinct advantage
- Empathetic, strategic, and commercially astute
- Ready to join a well-established, collegiate team and contribute to its continued growth
