Corporate Associate | NQ+ | Cardiff or Bristol | Hybrid

You join a corporate team just as it moves onto a much bigger stage.

Following a recent acquisition by a leading UK professional services group, backed by a major global private equity investor, the firm has become part of one of the most active dealmaking platforms in the UK. For the corporate team in Wales and the South West, this is not a rebrand or a cosmetic change. It is a step change in scale, deal flow and opportunity, and you would be joining right at the start of that next chapter.

From early on, you are involved in real transactions rather than sitting on the sidelines. The team has a strong track record in mid-market M&A, completing more than 55 deals last year, with transactions typically ranging from £3m to £15m and some reaching £50m+. You work on acquisitions and disposals, investment rounds and exits for ambitious businesses, often acting opposite national firms and increasingly across the South West as well as Wales.

What shapes the experience here is how deals are run. Corporate lawyers work closely with in-house corporate finance and tax specialists throughout each transaction, so you see the full picture from structuring through to completion. A large proportion of work is generated internally, which means a consistent, high-quality flow of matters and less time worrying about where the next deal is coming from.

As a junior associate, you are trusted early. You get hands-on exposure to due diligence, drafting and negotiating transaction documents, and managing discrete parts of deals in a fast-moving environment, with the support of senior lawyers who are invested in developing the next generation of the team.

These hires are part of a long-term growth plan, not short-term cover. The team has a strong history of spotting talent early and promoting quickly, and joining at this point gives you visibility and momentum as the practice expands. Progression is driven by ability and contribution, not time served.

The culture is commercial, pragmatic and busy, but not driven by arbitrary targets. With serious financial backing and a clear mandate to grow, this is a place where ambitious junior corporate lawyers can build strong transactional foundations while accelerating their career sooner than they might expect.

If you are looking for quality deal exposure, proper responsibility and the chance to grow with a team at a pivotal moment, this is well worth exploring.
