Construction Associate - Manchester | 3+ Years PQE
Construction law here sits at the centre of the real estate offering. The team works on projects that change skylines and reshape communities, logistics parks, city centre developments, major infrastructure. This is not a back-office function; it is a core practice, deeply connected to real estate, planning, and commercial teams across the firm.
You will join a highly regarded group led by lawyers who are recognised leaders in construction and engineering. The work spans the full spectrum: drafting and negotiating standard form contracts, advising on procurement and risk, and handling disputes when projects hit turbulence. You will get a mix of non-contentious and contentious work, because the team believes the best construction lawyers understand both sides of the coin.
What you'll be doing
Day to day, you will advise developers, contractors, funders, and public bodies on the contracts that underpin major projects. You will work with JCT, NEC, and bespoke forms, and you will learn to translate technical construction law into clear, commercial advice that clients actually understand. On the contentious side, you will support adjudications, mediations, and litigation, working closely with disputes lawyers across the firm.
You will have direct client contact from the start. You will manage your own matters with appropriate support, and you will help supervise and develop more junior team members as you progress.
About you
You are a qualified solicitor with at least three years' experience in construction law. You know your way around the main standard form contracts. You have a commercial head and a practical bent. You enjoy solving problems, not just identifying them. You can manage competing deadlines without losing attention to detail, and you care about the quality of the service you deliver.
You are ambitious but grounded. You want to work in a team where you can see the impact of what you do, where partners are accessible, and where entrepreneurial thinking is strongly encouraged. If you are looking for lift off, this firm will give you the launch pad.

- Exposure to high-profile projects with real economic and social impact
- A culture that is straight-talking, supportive, and serious about career development
- Competitive salary, hybrid working, and a clear pathway for advancement
