Commercial Property Solicitor (In-House) - 7+ PQE
North London (5 days in office | On-site parking available)

Our client, a privately owned property management group with a substantial London and South East portfolio, is looking to hire a Commercial Property Solicitor to join their established in-house legal team on a full-time basis.

The company manages a diverse portfolio of 800+ properties valued at over £500 million, including retail units, office blocks, and industrial estates. With a team of 50+ covering legal, property, asset management, surveyors, and finance, the legal team plays a central role in supporting the group's commercial property operations.

This is a key hire, replacing a long-serving team member, and you will join a small, specialist legal team of three solicitors. You will work closely with the Head of Legal and the wider property management team, taking primary responsibility for the group's commercial leasing activity across its portfolio.

Your role
You will manage and advise on a broad range of commercial property transactional matters for the group's own portfolio, including:

  • Negotiating, drafting, and completing commercial leases across retail, office, and industrial estate premises
  • Managing business lease renewals under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954
  • Handling land and title queries arising across the portfolio
  • Advising the commercial property management team on day-to-day landlord matters
  • Working closely with internal asset management, property, and finance colleagues
  • Operating largely unsupervised, taking ownership of your caseload and providing practical, commercially focused advice

Your profile

  • Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with a minimum of 7 years' PQE in commercial property (transactional)
  • Strong, hands-on experience of commercial leasing across a variety of property types - retail, office, and industrial
  • Solid knowledge of 1954 Act business lease renewals
  • Comfortable handling land and title queries independently
  • Able to manage a busy caseload with a high degree of autonomy
  • Commercially minded and pragmatic, with the ability to build strong working relationships with non-legal colleagues
  • Candidates based in North London or the North Home Counties are strongly encouraged to apply given the office location

The opportunity
Salary is offered up to £80,000 depending on experience. The role is fully office-based in North London, with on-site parking - well suited to candidates commuting from North London or the North Home Counties.
