Commercial Property Solicitor | 2+ PQE | Burgess Hill, West Sussex
Help Shape a New Office (While Building Your Commercial Property Practice)

A well-established regional firm has just secured a flagship office in Burgess Hill in the heart of the town. They're not just opening a satellite office. They're establishing a significant new presence with a full-service team across multiple disciplines.

They're looking for experienced Commercial Property Solicitors to help build and lead the Burgess Hill offering. This is a genuine growth opportunity: you'll help establish a practice from the ground up, work with autonomy, and be part of something genuinely new, all while managing quality commercial property work.

If you're ready to move beyond managing a caseload and actually shape how an office develops, this is rare.

The Opportunity

You'll be one of the founding lawyers in a new flagship office:

  • Manage your own commercial property caseload from day one
  • Build client relationships in a growing market area
  • Help shape the office culture and how the team operates
  • Work with genuine autonomy while having senior support across the firm
  • Contribute to the office's growth strategy as it establishes itself in Burgess Hill
  • Access full firm resources: modern offices, strong admin and paralegal support, investment in your development

This isn't about proving yourself in an understaffed outpost. The firm is investing properly, modern offices, experienced colleagues split across locations for support, and genuine backing for the expansion.

The Firm

A regional, full-service regional practice with real investment in its people and infrastructure.

The firm emphasizes what often gets overlooked: strong administrative and paralegal support, modern offices, genuine investment in staff. That matters for your development and your quality of work.

The Work

You'll handle a varied commercial property caseload:

  • Commercial acquisitions and disposals
  • Lease negotiations and landlord and tenant matters
  • Property finance and security work
  • Development work and strategic land matters
  • Advise business owners and corporate clients on property issues

You'll work independently on your own matters while having access to experienced senior lawyers who can support on complex issues.

About You

  • 2+ PQE in Commercial Property (flexible for the right candidate with no upper limit)
  • Strong technical grounding across commercial property law
  • Comfortable working with autonomy while knowing support is available
  • Commercially minded and client-focused
  • Keen to build a practice and help establish the Burgess Hill office
  • Looking for genuine growth opportunity, not just a lateral move

What's On Offer

  • Salary which is very much open to negotiation reflecting your experience
  • Performance-based rewards and bonus scheme
  • Hybrid and flexible working including part-time options (typically 60% office attendance)
  • Modern, purpose-built offices in a flagship Burgess Hill location
  • Strong paralegal and administrative support (genuine asset, not just marketing speak)
  • Career development within a full-service firm
  • Autonomy to build your practice within a supportive structure
  • Be part of something new: help establish a significant office expansion

Why This Works

Burgess Hill is growing. The firm has invested in a flagship location in a prominent building. They're serious about this expansion, it's not a speculative venture.

You're not joining a struggling practice or a token satellite office. You're being recruited to help establish something significant with proper backing from an established, well-regarded firm. That means access to resources, experience, and support while having genuine autonomy to shape how things work.

The emphasis on strong admin support and modern offices isn't lip service. It's genuinely how they operate. That directly impacts your ability to deliver quality work and develop your practice.

If you're a commercial property lawyer ready to move beyond just managing files and actually help shape an office's growth, with autonomy, support, and genuine opportunity, this is it.
