The Firm:

This is an opportunity to join a Top 200 UK law firm with a long-standing reputation for high-quality, claimant-focused work. The firm combines the strength and stability of an established practice with the feel of a close-knit, specialist team.

Within the firm sits a highly regarded, Tier 1-ranked injury and medical claims team, known for acting on complex and sensitive clinical negligence matters. The culture is professional, supportive and collegiate, with a genuine emphasis on developing people rather than treating paralegals as short-term resource.

The Role:

As a Paralegal in the Injury and Medical Claims team, you will work closely with Partners and senior fee earners on complex clinical and medical negligence claims. These cases often involve life-changing injuries, requiring a thoughtful, organised and empathetic approach.

You will be involved throughout the lifecycle of a claim, gaining exposure that goes far beyond administrative support.

Responsibilities include:

  • Meeting clients and taking detailed instructions at the outset of a claim
  • Conducting initial case assessments and supporting case strategy
  • Preparing funding, costs and litigation documentation
  • Reviewing, collating and analysing medical records
  • Drafting witness statements and attending witness meetings
  • Instructing medical and non-medical experts and liaising throughout the claim
  • Attending conferences with Counsel and assisting with preparation and follow-up
  • Supporting preparation for hearings and trials, including attendance where required
  • Maintaining regular client contact and supporting vulnerable clients through the process
  • Assisting with rehabilitation, benefits referrals and personal injury trusts
  • Supporting costs recovery and managing litigation files to a high standard

This is a hands-on role offering real responsibility, client contact and technical development within a specialist practice area.

Why this role?

  • Top 200 firm with a Tier 1 clinical negligence team - gain experience that is highly regarded across the market
  • Meaningful, complex work - support clients at critical moments and develop true technical expertise
  • Clear progression opportunities - a role designed as a stepping stone to long-term advancement
  • Hybrid working (2-3 days from home) - flexibility without compromising quality or collaboration
  • Supportive, specialist environment - work closely with senior lawyers who invest in development

The Candidate & Benefits:

  • This role would suit a paralegal who is motivated by high-quality work and long-term career development within injury and clinical negligence law.
  • You will be a mature, empathetic and professional approach to vulnerable clients
  • Strong organisation skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Clear, confident communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Initiative, reliability and a genuine interest in clinical negligence work
  • Confidence using case management systems and standard legal software
  • A law degree is preferred, though relevant experience in a legal environment will also be considered.
  • Hybrid working: 2-3 days per week from home
  • Private medical insurance, life insurance and income protection
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Discretionary annual bonus
  • Additional Christmas leave
  • Gym discounts, season ticket loan and lifestyle benefits
