The Role & The Work
A well-known Top 50 UK firm with an international platform is seeking a Banking & Finance Solicitor (2-5 PQE) to join its growing Edinburgh team.

This is an opportunity for you to be part of a fast-growing and entrepreneurial Scottish practice, while benefiting from the strength, reputation and deal flow of a highly regarded national team. The structure of the team means you will have genuine input into shaping the local offering, while being fully supported by an established and L500 recognised banking practice.

The team advises on a broad range of financing transactions, acting for lenders, borrowers and investors across multiple sectors. As such, you will gain exposure to high-quality, often multi-jurisdictional work, with the chance to develop a well-rounded and commercial skillset.

You will be involved across the full transaction lifecycle, from drafting and negotiating facility agreements and security documents, through to handling intercreditor arrangements, conditions precedent processes and deal completion. The consistent flow of work means you will quickly take on meaningful responsibility for transactions, building confidence and client exposure early on.

The variety of work is a key draw, spanning corporate lending, leveraged finance, real estate finance, asset finance and project finance, offering a strong platform to deepen your technical expertise across multiple disciplines.

Alongside your transactional work, you will have opportunities to support and mentor junior lawyers, contribute to client development initiatives, and play a visible role in the continued growth of the Scottish practice.

This is an ideal role for an ambitious Banking and Finance Lawyer looking to combine high-quality national work with the opportunity to make a tangible impact in a growing team, all within a firm known for its supportive, people-focused culture.

Your Experience

• Scottish or Dual Qualified Solicitor with 2-5 years' PQE in Banking & Finance
• Experience advising on lending transactions across the full lifecycle
• Strong drafting skills, particularly in facility agreements and security documentation
• Exposure to areas such as leveraged finance, real estate finance or corporate lending
• Strong communication skills and ability to build client relationships
• A proactive, commercially aware and collaborative approach
• Interest in mentoring junior team members and contributing to team growth
