Agriculture and Estates Solicitor | NQ+ PQE | Bristol

This is one of the largest and most respected agricultural legal teams in the UK, nearly 50 specialist lawyers across several offices, consistently top-ranked, and deeply embedded in the rural economy. The Bristol team is a growing part of that picture, a dedicated group of rural specialists. For a junior lawyer with an interest in the countryside, farming, and landed estates, this is a rare chance to start building a career with the backing of a national heavyweight.

The work
You will be part of the transactional agricultural team, advising farmers, landowners, landed estates, and agri-businesses on the full range of rural real estate matters. Your caseload will include:

  • Farm and estate acquisitions and disposals
  • Refinancing and secured lending work
  • Renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and battery storage
  • Natural capital and environmental agreements
  • Equestrian property matters
  • Landed estate property management

You will draft and negotiate contracts, deeds, and advice notes, working directly with clients and their other advisers from an early stage. You will be supported by a team that understands the sector inside out, many of them with farming backgrounds, Fellows of the Agricultural Law Association, and rural expertise. You will also get involved in marketing and networking, building your own profile within the South West's agricultural community.

About you
You are a newly or recently qualified solicitor, with up to four years' experience and a demonstrable interest in agriculture and estates work. You have strong drafting skills, attention to detail, and a commercial, client-focused approach. You are organised, adaptable, and keen to learn from a team of specialists. You do not need to come from a farming background, but you do need to care about the sector and the clients who operate in it.

What you'll get

  • A seat in one of the UK's leading agricultural legal teams, with national reach and deep sector expertise
  • Structured career development through a dedicated firm framework
  • The chance to build a career in Bristol, within a firm that is investing heavily in its presence in the South West
