Property Paralegal | West End | Legal 500 & Spears Ranked Firm | Genuine Route to Qualification

Are you a Property Paralegal looking for a genuine route to qualification, with the opportunity to build qualifying experience and ultimately secure an NQ position?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded West End firm that is actively investing in its paralegals with the intention of developing and retaining successful candidates as qualified solicitors.

Rather than simply being another paralegal position, this role offers a structured pathway towards qualification, with the opportunity to gain substantial qualifying experience within the Property
team and work towards becoming an NQ.

The Firm

Originally established as an award-winning niche real estate practice, the firm has evolved into one of the major multi-disciplinary firms in London's West End. Ranked in the Legal 500 and recognised by Spears, it now has highly regarded teams across Banking & Property Finance, Corporate & Commercial, Tax, Restructuring & Recovery, Dispute Resolution, Planning, Private Wealth and Construction.

Despite this growth, the firm has retained its personable and entrepreneurial approach, with a strong emphasis on developing its people. Junior lawyers and paralegals benefit from close Partner exposure, hands-on training and meaningful responsibility from an early stage.

The firm is widely praised for its supportive, friendly and collegiate culture, with a strong reputation for mentoring and career development. You will work closely with leading Partners, gain hands-on experience from an early stage and benefit from a clear pathway for progression, alongside a level of flexibility and work-life balance that can be harder to find within larger City firms.

The Team

The role sits within one of the largest and most established mid-market Real Estate teams in the West End, advising a diverse client base across both commercial and residential property. The team has built a strong reputation for handling high-quality and complex work, offering the breadth of a larger practice while retaining the accessibility, close Partner contact and personable culture of a leading West End firm.

The team handles a broad range of work including acquisitions and disposals, development, investment, landlord and tenant matters and residential property, giving the successful candidate the opportunity to develop broad and commercially relevant property experience.

With a recent Partner hire, there will be a significant plot sales workload, providing the successful candidate with the opportunity to support on this work while also assisting across the wider commercial property practice and the team's substantial property administration.

With a strong pipeline of work and continued investment in the practice, this is an excellent environment in which to build a long-term career in Property. You will work closely with experienced solicitors and Partners, gaining meaningful hands-on experience and responsibility from an early stage.

The Role & Qualification Opportunity

The key attraction of this role is the genuine commitment to getting the successful candidate qualified. You will join as a Property Paralegal and gain substantial qualifying experience within the Property team, with a flexible route towards qualification under the SQE.

Subject to the relevant SQE requirements and qualifying experience, there is potential to qualify through your work within a single area of practice rather than following the traditional four-seat training contract model. Your development will be closely monitored, with a strong focus on training you to a high standard and providing the experience needed to progress. The firm's intention is to retain successful candidates as NQs, making this a genuine long-term career opportunity.

As a Property Paralegal, you will gain hands-on experience across:

- Plot sales and associated property work
- General commercial and residential property
- Acquisitions, disposals, development and landlord & tenant
- Property administration and transaction management
- Supporting a Partner on a significant plot sales workload
- Working closely with solicitors and Partners across the Property team

This is an opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility from an early stage while building the technical experience and qualifying experience needed to progress towards becoming a solicitor.

Requirements

  • 2:1 degree or above
  • SQE2 completed is highly desirable
  • Strong academic background and clear commitment to a legal career
  • Property experience or a genuine interest in pursuing a career in Property
  • Paralegal experience would be advantageous
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage a busy workload and work effectively within a team
  • Genuine ambition to qualify and develop a long-term career within the firm

This is a particularly attractive opportunity for candidates who have completed SQE2 but are finding it difficult to secure a traditional training contract. You will have the opportunity to join an established Property team, gain substantial qualifying experience, receive close training and support, and work towards qualification with the genuine possibility of remaining with the firm as an NQ.
