The Team

The Property Disputes team sits within a well-regarded Dispute Resolution practice and advises a broad national and international client base on the full range of contentious property matters.

The team is known for taking a commercially sensible approach to litigation, analysing risk carefully and pushing hard for outcomes that make genuine commercial sense for clients. It is a team that combines strong technical ability with practical, no-nonsense advice and that reputation has been built over a long period of time.

The Role

You will join a close-knit and experienced team and take on a varied caseload of property disputes, running your own matters with a good degree of autonomy whilst working closely alongside the partner on more complex and high-value instructions. At Senior Associate level you will take real ownership of files, develop direct client relationships and play an active role in supporting and developing the more junior members of the team.

The work is broad and commercially interesting, covering the kind of disputes that arise across the full lifecycle of commercial property ownership and occupation.

That includes complex landlord and tenant matters, contested lease renewals and renewals under the 1954 Act, dilapidations and service charge disputes, break notice and forfeiture issues, possession claims, trespass and boundary disputes, party wall matters, overage and clawback arguments, professional negligence claims against property professionals and insolvency-related property issues. The variety is a real strength of this role and means no two months look the same.

The Ideal Candidate

• Qualified Solicitor with 5+ years PQE in property litigation or real estate disputes
• Confident running a varied caseload independently with a commercial and pragmatic approach
• Comfortable advising clients directly and managing relationships at a senior level
• Experienced in supporting and developing junior lawyers within a team environment
