Property Litigation Associate / Senior Associate | 2+ Years PQE | Leading International Firm | Manchester
Are you a Property Litigation lawyer looking for the next step in your career? This is a standout opportunity to join a highly regarded international practice in Manchester, recruiting on the back of a sustained increase in instructions.
You will advise private, public and social housing sector clients on complex, high value property disputes, with a caseload that reaches well beyond the usual boundaries of the practice area. From day one you will be handed real responsibility and the room to build your own practice within a growing team.
The Firm
An international firm with a substantial UK presence and a well-established Manchester office, consistently ranked in the Legal 500 across a range of practice areas, with partners individually recognised in their fields.
Real estate is the cornerstone of the firm's identity, sitting firmly at the commercial heart of the business rather than at its edges. The breadth of that practice is what makes this role unusual, with scope to become involved in most issues that ever touch property litigation.
The culture sets it apart: technically demanding work delivered in a collaborative, flexible environment without the relentless billing pressure. If you want work of quality and a life outside it, this firm offers that rare middle ground.
The Role
You will join the Property Litigation team, which is growing in response to client demand. The core of the work sits in residential landlord and tenant, covering service charge disputes, repossessions, forfeiture, enfranchisement and Right to Manage claims for clients across the private, public and social housing sectors.
The caseload runs much wider than that. You will also handle development related disputes and strategic advice for developers and insurers, including rights to light, disputes over property contracts, property related insolvency across both real property and landlord and tenant, and real property matters such as rights of way, adverse possession and restrictive covenants.
Beyond the files, you will build relationships with clients and market intermediaries with a focus on the Northwest, take an active part in business development at individual, team and office level, and delegate to and develop more junior fee earners as your own practice grows.
Your Experience
- At least two years PQE in property litigation
- Experience of complex residential property disputes
- Strong technical skills and the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
- Ability to supervise and develop junior members of the team
- Commercial awareness, drive and a clear client focus
Benefits and Opportunities
- Hybrid and flexible working
- A caseload with genuine breadth across the full span of property litigation
- Clear progression against a defined competency framework
- Exposure to clients across the private, public and social housing sectors
- Comprehensive benefits package
