The Team:
The Private Wealth team has developed a strong reputation for advising entrepreneurial HNW and UHNW individuals, families and business owners on a broad range of complex private wealth matters. With expertise spanning succession and estate planning, trusts, tax and wealth structuring, alongside high-value contentious probate and trust disputes, the team advises a long-standing client base including entrepreneurs, family offices, trustees, beneficiaries and internationally mobile individuals.
The team is led by highly regarded and experienced partners who are recognised for their technical expertise and pragmatic approach across both contentious and non-contentious private wealth matters. You will be joining an established and collaborative group of lawyers acting on complex, high-value work, where you will play a key role in the continued growth of the practice whilst further developing your own career progression.
The Role
This is a unique opportunity for a Private Wealth Senior Associate with 5-8 years' PQE to join their industry leading and growing team. Working with the firm's domestic and international client base, you will be working alongside exceptional lawyers, where your will drive further success for both your career and the firm.
As a Senior Associate you will have exposure to a varied and technically interesting caseload, working closely with experienced partners and lawyers on complex matters involving substantial estates, business interests and multi-jurisdictional assets. The work is often fast-paced and intellectually demanding, requiring a strong grasp of detail and the ability to navigate both legal and family dynamics sensitively.
You will have the opportunity to see matters through from early stage strategy and advisory work through to implementation and resolution, including involvement in contentious disputes where required. The role offers meaningful client contact and early responsibility, with increasing autonomy as confidence and capability develop.
Alongside day-to-day work, you will be supported in developing a strong technical foundation across both contentious and non-contentious private wealth matters, with clear exposure to high-quality work that sits at the intersection of family wealth, business interests and succession planning.
With the growth within the department, you will have excellent prospects to develop professional networks and take an active role in your own business development and profile-raising activities. This will provide you a genuine platform for you to build visibility both within the firm and across the wider Private Client community.
Requirements:
- Experienced Private Wealth solicitor (England & Wales) with 5-8 years PQE with both contentious and non-contentious exposure at a highly regarded firm.
- A commercial mindset with excellent written English, communication skills and strong client-facing ability.
- A passion for creative problem-solving, delivering neat and effective solutions to complex issues.
- Enthusiasm for business development and marketing, with an engaging, personable and collaborative approach.
- Strong academic credentials (including the Oxford IP Diploma or equivalent) and a team-focused attitude, supporting and supervising junior colleagues.
