The Team
This specialist ICM team are well-regarded for its expertise work on matters across their four main pillars of;
- Advertising-Influencer and Social Media
- Gaming and related technology (mixed reality and artificial intelligence)
- Fashion (commercial and IP matters)
- Production (commercial production and VFX animation)
The team is well known for attracting many lawyers from large-firm environments to gain broader exposure, earlier responsibility and a more entrepreneurial way of working.
The team are combined of 7 specialist partners built a collaborative, hands-on culture alongside 5 associates, 1 trainee, 1 paralegal and 5 personal assistants. Where the associates work closely with partners, gaining exposure across a wide range of matters and real responsibility from an early stage.
The team regularly acts opposite specialist media firms as well as City and US / international law firms, offering excellent training, confidence-building and long-term development.
The Role
This is an opportunity for a solicitor to join a thriving Interactive & Creative Media team, managing your own caseload and providing both transactional and advisory support across a range of commercial contracting matters. This will include intellectual property, consumer, and data protection work for a long-standing and prestigious client base.
You will be involved in drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements, including:
- Terms and Conditions of sale and purchase
- Consultancy and freelancer agreements
- Distribution agreements
- Franchise agreements
- Non-disclosure agreements
- Website terms of use and related policies
- Service agreements
- IP licence and assignments
- Production agreements
- Brand and social influencer agreements
- Podcast agreements
You'll take ownership of your workstreams, develop strong technical foundations, and begin to build trusted client relationships. There is also scope to become involved in business development activity and, over time, develop your own client base aligned with the firm's specialist sectors, while also supporting more junior associates and contributing to the firm's collaborative culture.
Requirements
- Qualified as a Solicitor (England and Wales) with between 3 and 6 years of PQE.
- An experienced lawyer having trained and worked within established practices.
- Substantial grounding and experience within a department handling interactive and creative media related matters.
- A strong experience of production is highly attractive
- Strong technical ability with excellent attention to detail.
- Commercial mindset and enthusiasm for client-facing work.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
