The Role & The Work

This is an opportunity to join a Legal 500 Tier 1 ranked debt recovery practice at a point of significant growth, in a team being actively built out from its established Newcastle base.

You will act for a client roster of banks, building societies, asset-based lenders and mortgage servicers, running secured recovery matters from instruction through to resolution. These are institutional clients with real volume behind them, which means consistent, substantial work and the commercial exposure that comes with acting for lenders at scale.

From the outset you will run your own files, navigating litigation, negotiation and enforcement across secured lending portfolios. At this level technical ability is built through exposure, and the volume here means you will develop faster than you would on a smaller caseload elsewhere. There is also exposure to HNW matters and the offer of cross-border work spanning both Scottish and English jurisdictions, which few recovery practices can offer.

This is a long-established firm with a strong heritage, now combined with a modern approach to legal delivery that leverages systems, data and collaboration to achieve better outcomes for clients. You will be encouraged to think commercially, challenge inefficient processes and have a say in how the team operates as it grows.

Your Experience

• England & Wales qualified Solicitor (NQ-3 PQE)

• Background in debt recovery, litigation or financial services work

• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload effectively and to deadline

• Understanding of secured lending, enforcement and recovery strategies

• Commercially minded with a proactive, solution-driven approach

• Confident communicator with strong analytical skills
