The Role

The firm seeks to hire a Contentious Trusts and Probate HOD/Partner to join their Colchester office.

The private wealth department is ranked top tier in the legal 500 and chambers. They are renowned for dealing with some of the best quality work nationally and internationally. The work that you will deal with is for HNW individuals.

Your caseload will include domicile disputes, challenges concerning the validity or construction of wills, acting for trustees and beneficiaries concerning breach of trust claims, applications for directions or removal, claims under the Inheritance Act, Property beneficial ownership / TLATA disputes, Professional negligence claims relating to wills, trusts or tax advice.

The team provides a comprehensive service setting up and managing deputyships within the Court of Protection. They can act as professional deputies and assist with Court of Protection procedures.

As a senior team member, you will oversee, mentor and train junior and mid-level fee-earners in the team and have an overall positive influence over the direction of the department. Therefore, prior leadership experience is highly desirable.

This role would be ideal for a Senior Associate looking progress in their career, or an existing Partner in this space seeking a new and exciting role with a top firm.

Requirements & Remuneration:

• You will be a Senior Contentious Probate Solicitor or existing Partner with at least 6 years PQE
• You will ideally have experience with court of protection work
• You will have strong business development capabilities and first-class communication skills
• Salary is negotiable depending on your level of experience
