Commercial Partner | London | Leading National Law Firm | Owner-Managed Business Focus

Are you an established Commercial Partner with a strong Owner-Managed Business client base looking for a platform where you can continue to build and grow your practice? This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing London OMB offering with genuine investment behind it, no fixed following threshold and scope to build something substantial.

A highly regarded national law firm is looking to make a number of senior hires to support the continued growth of its Owner-Managed Business offering in London. The firm is looking for commercially minded Partners with a genuine OMB network, a strong track record of generating work and the ambition to continue building a significant practice.

The Firm:

A leading national law firm with an established UK presence and a broad full-service offering spanning Corporate and Commercial, Dispute Resolution, Employment, Real Estate, Banking and Finance, Private Client and a range of specialist legal services.

The firm advises businesses and individuals across a wide range of sectors and has developed a strong offering for privately owned and entrepreneurial businesses. Its OMB client base ranges from family, start-up and micro businesses through to established family-owned businesses with turnovers of £250-300m.

The Commercial practice advises clients across a broad range of matters, including commercial contracts, technology and IT agreements, outsourcing, intellectual property, data protection, competition and franchising. The team takes a pragmatic, commercially focused approach, working with businesses of different sizes across a wide range of sectors.

The firm is investing further in its London OMB offering, with an ambition to build a genuinely connected ecosystem for owner-managed businesses across the wider practice. This creates an opportunity for an established Partner to continue developing their practice, supported by the infrastructure and wider expertise of an established national firm.

The Role:

This is an excellent opportunity for an established Commercial Partner to join a growing London OMB offering and continue building a significant practice.

The successful candidate will have a strong proportion of Owner-Managed Business clients within their existing practice and advise entrepreneurs, shareholders, family-owned businesses and other privately held companies across a broad range of Commercial matters.

The exact nature of your practice is flexible, but you should have strong experience advising businesses on their commercial arrangements and a network of OMB clients and contacts. This could include commercial contracts, technology and IT agreements, outsourcing, IP, data protection, competition, franchising or other areas of commercial advisory work.

You will work closely with the OMB leadership team and contribute to the wider OMB ecosystem, with opportunities to introduce clients to colleagues across Corporate, Employment, Real Estate, Private Client, Dispute Resolution and other specialist areas.

A particularly attractive aspect of the opportunity is that there is no fixed following threshold. The firm is interested in the quality of your relationships, your track record of generating referrals and work, and your potential to continue building a substantial practice rather than requiring a particular level of portable revenue.

The firm is looking for someone with the ambition to build an "empire" around their client base. You will be expected to be active in the market, developing relationships through networking, events, dinners and other business development opportunities, whilst having the support of a broader national platform.

Requirements

  • Established Commercial Partner with a strong track record in the market.
  • An Owner-Managed Business client base and network, representing a significant proportion of your existing practice.
  • Demonstrable track record of generating work, referrals and developing long-term client relationships.
  • Broad Commercial experience, with flexibility across different areas of specialism.
  • Commercially minded, entrepreneurial and proactive, with strong relationship-building and networking skills.
  • Ambitious and motivated to continue building a significant practice.
  • Collaborative and sector agnostic, with a strong OMB network and willingness to introduce clients to the wider firm.

This is a particularly attractive opportunity for an established Commercial Partner with a strong OMB network who is looking for a platform to continue growing their practice. With significant investment behind the London OMB offering, no fixed following threshold and genuine scope to build a substantial practice, the role offers the opportunity to play a key part in shaping the future of a growing area of the firm.
